Vietnam Memorial
This is a picture of Sydney at the Vietnam Memorial infront of Scott's uncles name- Robert E De Celle II- He's the one that we have the Lake Tahoe Memorial Relay for. I just realized that our generation is removed from this war and that many of us have almost all together forgotten it. Can you imagine by Sydney's generation how much more far removed will they all be from all of that? It just made me think that I want to make sure that I educate my kiddos about important events in the past. What do you girlies think about how to accoplish that? THANKS GIRLS! LOVE YOU ALL!

good point! sometimes i feel that i'm failing in keeping myself up to date on politics and remembering past events. personally, i want to read more books. and when your kids are young, read them history stories as well as peter rabbit and whatever else is typical.
on our way back from puerto rico, i bought "the Widow of the South" at the airport to read. new civil war novel. i'll send it to you when i'm done!

Good point on the history that we lose even as it passes! It's crazy to think that people who lived/fought during WWII are dying out at an amazing rate everyday! Who will tell those stories if we don't! And the most important thing to remember (as President Bush seems to have forgotten about Vietnam): "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." -poet and philosopher George Santayana.
